Ioannis Bratakos was born in Athens in 1968. He has a bachelor’s degree in Production Engineering & Management and a Master’s degree in Political Economy from the London School of Economics & Political Science. In 1999 he co-founded DD Synergy, a company that offers software and hardware solutions, where he remains as Managing Director. He has been actively involved in the SAP software services field, since 1995.

He has been a member of the Board of Directors at the Athens Chamber of Commerce and Industry since 2006. In December 2017 he was elected as the Chamber’s Vice President, supervising innovation, new technologies and investments, as well as the domestic start-up ecosystem. During his service at the ACCI, he has been a member to numerous Committees, including the Steering Committee for Progress & Development and the Monitoring Committee of the National Reform Program for the Lisbon Strategy. Furthermore, he has been the ACCI’s representative on the EuroCommerce Technology & Communication Committee.

In February 2021, he joined Athens University of Economics and Business as a member of its Strategic Advisory Committee for the Postgraduate Studies in Services Management.

In September 2021 he was elected President of the Athens Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
